All of the staff at Kingsley Academy, teaching and non-teaching (including temporary and supply staff), management board and volunteers are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. Our practice is guided by the document ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ to safeguard and promote the welfare of children.  We regularly share updates and DfE guidance.  We ensure that all of our staff have received initial training in safeguarding, have access to relevant information and attend the annual refresher course to ensure they are up to date. We work together with other agencies to ensure there are adequate arrangements within our school to identify, assess and support those students who are suffering harm.

The Designated Safeguarding Lead is Sharon Gladstone (Assistant Principal) and the deputies are Cathering McCutcheon (SEMH Lead) and Abbi Northover (SENCO).

There is a management board member (Ali Messer) who is responsible for safeguarding and it is a standing item on all management board meetings.
