Students at Kingsley Academy recently had the rare opportunity to listen to an entertaining, engaging and inspirational talk by David Dein, the former Vice-Chairman of the Arsenal Board and former Vice-Chairman of the Football Association who has also served on numerous UEFA and FIFA Committees.

The response from the 300 students who attended David’s talk was overwhelmingly positive. Students thoroughly enjoyed the experience of listening to David and were inspired to work hard and achieve their best. The students liked his enthusiasm, his jokes and the way he interacted with them throughout the presentation, which included the opportunity to ask him questions.

Among the many recommendations made by David, students were encouraged to ‘stick your neck out’ in order to achieve, and reminded that ‘positive behaviour and attitude in life are really important’ and that ‘you have to work hard to be successful.’

David Dein contacted the Principal to say: “Thank you for giving me such a warm welcome at your school today. I thought the students were one of the most lively groups that I have met in all my years of giving talks in schools.  They were engaged, enthusiastic, polite and asked intelligent questions, a great credit to you and your staff. I have very positive memories of my visit to Kingsley Academy”.
