The annual launch ceremony took place on Thursday 16th November at the Paul Robeson theatre with selected students.

Keeper of the Realms Blood & Fire

Marcus Alexander, author of the powerful fantasy ‘Keeper of the Realm’ hosted the event with a highly motivational talk about how he is inspired and tools that help him to be creative. Marcus advocates the best mind to tap into creativity is the mind that experiences life, as he himself is a passionate traveller and tastes delicacies such as crickets and bugs. He is equally ardent about extreme sports and martial arts.

His latest addition to the series is called ‘Blood and Fire’ a full-on adventure which has all the elements to make this book a firm favourite. Marcus has written the ‘perfect adventure for children and adults who like a brave and feisty heroine’.

The six books on the shortlist for the Hounslow Teen Read for 2018 were disclosed as follows:

1. After the Fire - Will Hill
