Kingsley celebrates the 5th Anniversary of our annual talent competition and our first ever ‘Kingsley Academy’s Got Talent’

On Friday 7th June 2013 Kingsley Academy celebrated the historic fifth anniversary of its annual talent competition and the first ever 'Kingsley Academy's Got Talent'. Those who attended experienced an evening of enjoyable, high quality performances by our students. Tavarny Singh emerged as the overall winner and received a cash prize of £100.

"It was an unforgettable experience to become the first winner of Kingsley Academy's Got Talent. Thanks to all the people that supported me all the way to the end and congratulations to all the other acts who made it through the auditions and finals."

During breaks between acts the audience was treated to fantastic guest performances by last year’s winner Manuela Renard, George Boyce, a previous winner and Alexander Adeoye the first ever winner of the competition. Alex is currently studying Engineering at University.

As in previous years, the feedback from governors, staff, parents, students and friends who attended was overwhelmingly positive.

One of our parents wrote,
Kingsley Academy’s Got Talent 2013 was a roaring success. It was an excellent example of all the wonderful and talented students that attend the school. There was beautiful singing and exciting dancing with some great guest performances. A big well done to the deserving winner Tavarny Singh for your brilliant performance.

Ms. Sakhardande, Principal of Kingsley Academy, thanked all who took part and lent their support in making the event so special. After presenting the prize to Tavarny, Ms. Sakhardande congratulated all the performers and remarked that it is possible to succeed in music, drama and sports and to excel in other academic subjects simultaneously. Alex will be coming back to speak with students about his experiences since leaving us and of course, to perform again.

Kingsley Academy’s Got Talent has emerged as one of the most popular and successful features of our school calendar over the past five years.
