We are delighted to announce that a Kingsley Academy student, Shayma Abukar, Year 12, has just earned a place in the University of Oxford UNIQ summer school. This year, 5,800 students applied for only 875 places.  Shayma will have the opportunity to study biochemistry whilst attending lectures and seminars held by Oxford academics. She will also have the chance to work with them to develop her personal statement and interview skills. We are so proud of Shayma who is thrilled by this amazing opportunity; we know she will have a wonderful time and benefit hugely from it.

Shayma has been with the school since Year 7 and achieved 7 A* and 3 A at GCSE. She is currently studying biology, maths, chemistry and Spanish at A-level, and is expected to attain A's in all subjects. We are so proud of Shayma for gaining a place in such a highly competitive and prestigious programme which will give her invaluable advice and guidance as she applies to Oxford in the next academic year.

Kingsley Academy's 6th Form offers a broad and balanced curriculum of A-level, BTEC and GCSE retake programmes. We pride ourselves in supporting students, on the right pathway for them, to guarantee success at the end of their time with us. Our top priority is making sure all students leave prepared with the skills and qualifications they require for their choice of destination, whether that be Oxbridge and Russell Group universities or employment and further studies.
