Kingsley Academy's Sports Ambassadors were privileged to work with Sky Sports Living for Sports, Senior Athlete Mentor and Paralympic gold medallist, Tim Prendergast, this week. They looked at the 6 keys to success and how to become a better sports leader. They worked on a variety of team building activities throughout the day and saw their communication, reasoning and problem solving skills improve dramatically. Tim worked with the students using the 6 keys to success, an idea the athlete mentors themselves put together. The keys are: mental toughness, hunger to achieve, people skills, sports and life knowledge, breaking barriers and planning for success.

Students listened intently to Tim's journey as he linked the 6 keys to his own story while still engaging with their journeys both as Sports Ambassadors and as students. Students were able to hold his 2004 Gold Medal and were in awe of what can be accomplished regardless of the cards that life has dealt you. The students had an amazing experience with feedback including, "Better than I thought this was going to be", "That was truly inspiring" and "I feel pumped up and ready to go."

Tim had a great day working with the students and commented, "I had a great day. It was awesome working with you and the students...these students really have potential and hopefully they can go on and do some great things with their lives"
